this totally resonates with me. People just don't 'get it' when I say I'm a sugar addict, few people understand the shame and the secrecy that goes with this addiction. I have been on/off on/off sugar for the last twenty years of my adult life. I have such clarity as to the root cause of my addiction. I know how much better I feel when I'm free, but I never stick to it for more than a few months...
Hi Jinty, thanks for your message, I can totally relate! My plan is to have this space on Substack as a community where we can support each other. I've been a bit quiet on here as I've just been finishing my first year at Uni, but over the next few weeks I'm going to share more information. There are Overeaters Anonymous who I think have meetings in Scotland, I did look into it years ago but never went. I've joined Joan Ifland's community on FB, https://www.facebook.com/groups/1806154526275515, which shares quite a lot of good information.
Sounds fabulous and I would like to pledge support for this x I have just signed up to Substack this week and then saw Lillia had shared your links on her newsletter so it felt very serendipitous 🦋🦋
Thank you! I hope to arrange some meetups and workshops later in the year. Not sure where you're based but I'll be arranging something for Glasgow and Edinburgh initially. I'm also doing a talk and a workshop at the Wild Medicine Festival in Tarbert in a couple of weeks xx

I definately need the support of a community. I have always said if there was the equivalent of an AA meeting I would be there...

I resonate so much with your story ... I too have a huge sugar addiction and it is just awful .. ❤️
I'm sorry to hear that Roz, it's challenging. I'm hoping to create a community around The Sweet Escape where we can support each other through this x
